Websites that help us lose weight and track our progress

January 20th, 2007

I found this great post listing all sorts of websites that can help us lose weight by providing nifty graphs and extra accountability. Does anyone use any of these or are there any other tools that I’m missing?

I’m thinking of signing up for Gimme20 account and a traineo account.

Anything that helps right?

  1. Yes, it was my birthday on the 18th, thanks for stopping by and commenting! :)

I haven’t heard of Gimme20, but I tried out Traineo. Their trackers are very good - I especially liked how you calculate a good day vs. a bad day - but I didn’t like that you couldn’t add free text notes. For example, I would have had a “bad day” on the Traineo chart for my birthday, but there wouldn’t have been anywhere to record why it was “bad day.” I guess using Traineo in conjunction with a blog would be okay, because then if you had an exceptionally “bad day” you could refer back to the blog and remember why.

  2. You will find that it really does help when you track things, otherwise you have no baseline for comparison. The ability to visualize your progress is both motivating and rewarding.

    Anyhow, thanks for the link!

  3. Hi, While I think those sites are great, our site (MyFitTribe.com) gives you the motivation to lose weight by having actual fitness gurus, nutritionists, doctors and a whole great community help you with your goals. There are lots of people on the site with the same goals. In fact, check out our friend hideaway who only joined the site a week ago, but has already made such great progress!: http://www.myfittribe.com/blogs/hideaway/20070815/week1-done-thanks-all-you.html

Best of luck to your in your journey!
