I used to be addicted to Diet Coke, and I blame Weight Watchers for that since its 0 points on their plan and it agreed with my bladder a lot more than water does.

My friend was in love with Mountain Dew and we were all very worried about how much she drank - since its got 10 times the caffeine of coffee. I once remember seeing a documentary about a man who was so addicted to it that a grocery shopping trip required two trolleys; one for the regular foodstuffs and one for the Mountain Dew. OUCH!

OMG - I feel the same way about Diet MT.Dew! LOVE it. Used to have 3 to 4 cans a day at work due to a pop machine that was too close to my office. I had to go cold-turkey, however in December because I moved to Australia and they don't stock it here. GOD I miss it! I started drinking tea instead and I am glad too, because I just read a report that claims the phos acid in sodas contribut to Osteoporosis in women. Next thing you know, lettuce is going to cause cancer. Oy.

Wow...you're a strong woman! Bear with it, and you'll feel great soon, and won't miss it quite as much! I quit regular ole potato chips...still do the baked ones sometimes, though! Great job!

DIET COKE! OMG -- I never even drank that much of it (the most I ever drank in one day was two 20 oz bottles and most of the time I drank one per day) but holy cow, I could not kick it. I was like Robert Downy Jr with cocaine. I'd give it up for days or weeks, but soon I'd find myself with that red and white can in my hand again. For the past few months, I've only had a few diet cokes though (that would be a few total, not a few per day!). Dang, I miss my DC.

I gave up vegetables for Lent one year. ;P

Honestly, I'm not a boozehound, but alcohol is something I'm trying to cut back on - talk about empty calories there! I'll drink out on the weekends, but I'm trying to cut back on weeknight beer/glasses of wine. I just don't need it, so that's my sin du jour.

Overall I'm not so much about cutting things out all the way - I'm more a fan of moderation, having one of something versus a handful, one of the small cans of pop versus the whole thing, etc. It's worked well for me so far!

Good luck. :D
