I’m running on empty!
August 3rd, 2006The past couple of weeks have been EXTREMELY busy for me in all respects of my life. I’ve got quite the pile on my desk work-wise, my friends want to spend lots of time with me as I do them, and of course my life at home is crazy! I feel like I’m constantly on the go and i just want to get off this ride! That is life I guess, and this particular month just seems to be one of those hectic ones. The downside is I really don’t have anytime to take care of myself the way I should be. I’m eating okay I guess. Not bad, but not entirely good. Just kind of getting by. The part that really sucks is I haven’t had anytime to exercise. I could really use it just to help with the stress. Working out has always been a big stress relief for me and i could use it now more than ever.
Fortunately, there is an end to this madness in sight, but it won’t come for a couple weeks and at that point, the feeling of GO-GO-GO, is going to have a dramatic 180 degree and I think I will be quite down.
You see, I have a lot of things going on in my life right now.. a lot of changes. My biggest fear is the fear of the unknown and that is where I’m heading in life. I am moving and will need to meet new friends, etc.
so much to say here! I will write further on this later.. in the meantime, back to the insanity!
Just read your post and I think you are going through the same thing as me right now. I’ve got work coming out of every hole in my body (disgusting i know but thats what it feels like just now) and not enough time to do it, and even if I tried it just eats into your personal life. One thing to remember is this. Only do the work during work hours, if it goes longer forget it till tomorrow. You’re not paid to loose your social / family life so don’t stress. If the work is too much then the chances are its an office time management issue and not a personal issue. This is what I keep telling myself and it helps because it aleviates some of the stress and feelings of responsibility.
Hope you are feeling better soon.

I completely agree with you KJ and it is defintely a time management thing. But some of this, I’m afraid, I brought on myself. I just need to dig myself out right now and then I need to figure out how NOT to get into this position again! I just took on too much.
Nice blog btw.

Thanks, i’ve been working on it for a while but it has no focus yet, it’s a mish mash of everything.
You know you could always try small forms of exercise when you don’t have time to do the full session that you might be used to. Sometimes when at work i’ll stand on one leg and do calf stretches. You’ll find ways to fit small things like this into your routine.

Hang in there, FG! Keep eating well and exercising, though… the exercise really helps with the stress levels, even if you can only fit in 15 minutes here and there. Wishing you well!!

We can run together
Although my corner is a bit far from your corner but we can do a virtual run

Hang in there. This stress won’t be forever and you WILL be okay. *hug*

Can you combine going out with your friends with a workout, such as mall walking? Or amybe a game of twister, or DDR?

OMG DDR! I LOVE DDR! I don’t think I’ve been able to pass a song yet… but still! I’m on the hunt to get a DDR mat and game for myself (easy to find a mat in New Zealand, but not a game - which makes a lot of sense :S)
Like FatMom said, Hang in there! This too shall pass

Greetings,
I came across your blog while doing research for The Greg Behrendt Show; a new nationally syndicated talk show premiering this fall. I am currently working on a show topic about the ups and downs of weight loss. We are looking for a variety of stories from people who have tried (successfully or not) to lose weight and how their weight change affects their personal relationships.
The Greg Behrendt Show is a positive, upbeat show looking to push people in the right direction. This is not about exploiting anyone’s story; rather it’s about giving people the helpful advice they need.
If you are interested in discussing your story with me, please give me a call at your earliest convenience. We are seeking not only people who may need help, but also “real-life experts” who can offer advice to our guests. Check out more about our show www.gregbtv.com.
I look forward to speaking with you soon. Thank you for your time.
Best Regards,
Ally Weinberg

Hang in there. It will pass and things will settle down a bit for you - I hope. Just remember to look to the sun and smile once in a while
